Full English or Eggs Benedict?
What tickles your breakfast taste buds?
Mexican eggs?
As it’s National Breakfast Week, my family and I thought we’d shine a light on our favourite options for the most important meal of the day.
Hopefully it inspires those 45 per cent of people who skip breakfast at least once a week – so go eat and kick start your day!
My girls love a scrambled egg sunshine like my Nanny used to make.
I love a vegetarian version of Nasi Lemak, a Malay dish of rice cooked in coconut milk, curry/chilli sauce, boiled egg and fried onions (or for fish lovers – anchovies).
I would happily eat a ‘proper meal’ for breakfast like a stir-fry and tofu with coconut milk…
But most days I settle for plain porridge as it’s quick and easy.
My partner Chris likes an occasional dirty fry-up but on the whole loves smoked salmon, poached egg and hollandaise sauce.
When my youngest daughter was in hospital last year, we were sent out of the Intensive Care Unit for hand-over around breakfast time. So we got to try a range of different breakfasts at local eateries. Our two favourites were All Bar One for a beautiful, clean and interesting breakfast and we also liked Wetherspoons for something a little dirtier (especially for me as they do a veggie Full English and refill coffee).
So shake up your wake up this #BreakfastWeek
