“About five years ago I remember thinking that my life was pretty easy and maybe I hadn’t lived through enough pain…
“A year on… and I’d nursed my eldest daughter through open heart surgery, got divorced, moved house and discovered there was a way back from the brink.”
Meet Michelle McHale, Founder of Attachment Parenting UK (APUK)
Where do you live and who with?
I live with the APUK in-house coach who also makes the world’s best quiche! I love skinny dipping on Dartmoor – I feel fiercely protective of her wild beauty and I also love 5 rhythms dance!
What does your daily life look like?
I’m a bit full-on saved only by the necessary sanity-saving dog walks in the magic cow field near our house.
What inspires you to keep going?
I’m an ‘improver’ so I am inspired by generosity, authenticity and visionaries but most of all by people who carry a peacefulness and follow their heart with love for those around them.
What motto do you live by?
No motto other than to remind myself that my thoughts create my reality.
What is your greatest passion?
Love!
What are you most proud of?
I always struggle to know what pride means for me – I don’t feel well-connected to it as an emotion.
What are you up to at the moment?
I’m in the throes of organising our first national attachment parenting conference – I am in a state of marvel/panic, excitement/panic, tears/panic – my whole family are being whisked along on the ride because I can’t resist a challenge and I’ve been overly ambitious with this one!
What are your dreams?
I dream of slowing down long enough to pay much better attention to myself – of course, there’s absolutely nothing to stop me doing that right now!
Anything else?
My partner Michael is 18 years older than me! I gave up Uni after my best friend invited me to go to New York with her age 18! I loved NY, I also went and lived in Spain and, eventually went to Uni two years later!

I would love to attend this conference as I’ve been inspired by attachment parenting during my journey as a mum of two wonderful girls and I feel there is still plenty for me to learn!

It would be amazing!
Amazing prize! Exactly what I am researching about at the moment.
I would find this very interesting and informative.
