Each week I’m featuring an inspiring person whose real-life experience is sure to inspire you.

This week… Mama Mei chats to a young entrepreneur who has set up a nation-wide app which helps parents locate child-friendly activities in their area.

23-year-old Tessa Robinson, a former musical theatre student, created the Club Hub UK app after starting her own childrenโ€™s musical theatre group, only to find there were no free options to advertise locally.

With help from start-up aggregator Ideas Britain she was able to develop her idea, before being entered into their #InSport competition, where she took second place.

The award drew the attention of Marcus Isman-Egal (Managing Partner of Red Everywhere) Menno Marien (Founder of CROSSMO) and Kathleen Saxton (Founder and CEO of the Lighthouse Company), who helped her convert her idea into an app that parents and clubs can use. Tessa would like to thank all the amazing team at The Honest Agency who made her idea become a reality.

Where do you live & who with?

Tessa currently lives with her parents in South West London. As she continues to save as much money as possible to put into her business, Club Hub UK.

Tessa loves musical theatre and has a big passion for teaching children to be confident in everything that they do.

Tessa is a currently a teaching assistant during the day at a local primary school and works on Club Hub UK after school hours. She also teaches at the musical theatre club she founded on Wednesdays “Tessa’s Jazz Hands.”

Tessa is currently a member of the entrepreneur academy which allows her to network with other budding entrepreneurs and become inspired by guest speakers every month.

Tessa’s greatest passion is children and to get them active, away from their various technological devices to gain skills, make friends and most importantly improve their confidence.

At the moment Tessa is starting to sponsor fantastic activity providers around the U.K. She is also currently being mentored by Junior Ogunyemi to make Club Hub UK the best it can possibly be.

Tessa’s dream would be for Club Hub UK to be the main place for parents to go to find activities for children for the whole of the U.K. She also hopes to one day get a part on the West End stage.

Tessa has a pet rabbit called Maisie who lives in her bedroom and is now over eleven years old.

She also appeared in the latest ‘A United Kingdom’ film as a swing dancer.

Tessa would love activity providers to get in touch and sign up with Club Hub UK for free. She would also love parents to download the app and send her feedback.
